Congratulations to Los Angeles and Guatemala-based Gaby Moreno, First Place winner of Round 5 of the QuickLaunch Song Contest – with her song “Each Day.” The song is awesome! Check it out. Second Place:Joe Dolce
OK folks, this is our first foreign language prize winner! Australian songwriter Joe Dolce takes second place prize for the QuickLaunch Song Contest with his song “Lynetta” — which is in French. We loved the song even before we knew what was being sung. We were happy to find out from the translation on sonicbids that the lyrics were as stimulating as the music. This is a fun, traditional sounding, folksy song that takes us back in time to the streets of Paris on a warm sunny day. It is a love song that oscillates from the present to reminiscences of first meeting. Nice work Joe! Joe wins a $500 prize package of $350 cash and a $150 DiscMakers CD replication coupon.

First Place: Jeff Dayton
Country takes the cake this time! Contratulations to Nashville based Jeff Dayton for winning the QuickLaunch Song Contest Round 4 First Place prize of $1500 cash with his basically perfect country song "Break Me Twice.“ It is about heartache, heartbreak and the trials and tribulations of your average relationship. Crafted with an ear for how lyrics and emotion link with harmonies and the tastefully inserted electric and steel guitars. To all of our licensing partners: think romantic comedy, when the mood turns a bit more introspective near the end of the movie. Again, our congratulations to Jeff — awesome!

Second Place: Raining Jane
The QuickLaunch Song Contest Round 4 Second Place prize of $500 cash goes to Los Angeles based Raining Jane, with their at times mellow, at times soaring song “Wyoming Sky.” The emotion is clear, the singing is beautiful, we can hear every word. The lyrics cleverly compare love with the “wide open sky” of Wyoming, nature’s grand scenery. Any movie involving Wyoming-type scenery would be well served through a placement of this song. Job well done!
